Our Learning

In Year 2, we have been learning about plants in Science. We have looked at different seeds, grown cress in different conditions and planted bulbs. We have been revising our number-bonds to 10 and 100 in Maths and have learnt addition methods. We have been talking about the uses of Information Technology in Computing and have had lots fun learning about primary, secondary and tertiary colours in Art. In Geography, we have learning about the countries, bodies of water and capital cities of the United Kingdom.

Supporting your child at home

Children are able to exchange their reading books every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and should try and read at home every evening.  Spellings and a home learning activity will be sent home on a Friday.  The activities should be completed throughout the week and returned the following Friday.

In the event of school closure...

On rare occasions, it may be necessary to close the school. This may be due to adverse weather conditions or perhaps when essential school services cannot be provided –e.g. heating, plumbing or water.

Please refer to the School’s Bad Weather Policy on our website for information regarding how we communicate a school closure.

Class teachers will then initiate home school learning activities, and these will be available to children by 10am of the same morning.
