Sport at Burpham
Welcome to the Burpham Primary School Sports page. Here you will find out about our overall aims as a school, what we aim to achieve each year and facilitate to the children. Below highlights why we are passionate about physical education, our PE policy and any updates regarding sporting events held throughout the course of each academic year.
Thank you for visiting.
Sports' Day 2022
We had such a lovely time at our Sports' Days this year! Reception and Year 1 had a fun afternoon on the field and Years 2-6 enjoyed their morning on the track at Guildford Spectrum. Thank you to all the parents who came along; it was so brilliant to have spectators again! Have a look at the photo gallery below to see all the fun we had!
At Burpham, we try our best to ensure our children are given a wide range of sporting opportunities within their PE lessons making our lessons accessible to all. Each academic year, our topics taught in PE are reviewed to allow room for development across the years and new sporting opportunities given to our pupils. We hope you enjoy the slideshow below giving you a small insight of what we get up to across the school in our PE lessons. Enjoy!
Over the year we have been competing in cross country against other local schools in Guildford. The children have shown real commitment and dedication to this sport and have such a love for running. It has been brilliant to compete against other schools outdoors as many of our other sporting opportunities were unfortunately postponed due to COVID. Below are a few slideshows of photos we have accumulated over the course of the events and put them altogether for your enjoyment. We wish our year 6 children the very best on their sporting journey to secondary school and hope they continue to represent their school in as many sports as possible. Years 3, 4 and 5, we look forward to continuing our cross country next year and keep striving to try our best.
The final year 3 and 4 cross country of the year, we are really proud of the children who showed wonderous amounts of perseverance and determination to succeed during their event. We also had a great first experience at Boxgrove School who kindly hosted our final cross country across their school grounds and St Thomas'.
The final cross country of the academic year for years 5 and 6 on the Pewley Downs hosted by Holy Trinity. The children did extremely well and enjoyed their final run in the warmth and sunshine. The atmosphere at this event was buzzing with good sportsmanship and lots of cheering from the families in attendance. We wish our year 6 children the very best as their journey continues on to secondary school and thank all the children for their commitment and perseverance. Well done Burpham! :)
