Welcome to the PSA!
Burpham has a vibrant and dynamic PSA (Parent Staff Association) of which ALL parents are members. Despite our small size, we raise thousands each year to enrich the learning and enjoyment for all pupils at the school, including your child.
The school boasts a whole range of items that have been funded by the PSA, from IT equipment to playground furniture.
Although our primary role is fund-raising, we also organise social events for parents and/or pupils. We’re proud that Burpham has a family feel and our events help everyone – pupils and parents - to get to know each other and encourage closer links between home and school.
At our school ALL parents/carers and teachers are automatically members of the PSA. Getting involved could mean anything from serving refreshments for the school nativity or helping to organise a larger event such as the Summer Fete. We’re always on the look-out for parents who can help in any shape or form – we value the ability to serve a cup of tea as much as the creative nous to create Christmas crafts!
The PSA is comprised purely of volunteers, themselves parents of pupils, who attend Burpham Primary School. Every year a committee is elected to run the PSA – consisting of a chair, a treasurer, a secretary and committee class reps who pass on information from the PSA to other parents in their child’s class.
The PSA is always looking for more help and input. We are always keen to discuss and develop new ideas on how we can make pupils’ AND parents’ time at Burpham as beneficial and enjoyable as possible.
Please feel welcome to come along to a PSA meeting. The meetings are very informal, are usually held in the school's staff room and give you a real chance to make an impact, and have a say, in driving the PSA forward to the benefit of everyone.
Contact us via a note in the PSA post box, found in the school office, for more details on how you can help or pop along to a scheduled meeting.
