Lunch Menu from January 2024 to May 2024
A message from Pabulum on Tuesday 18th April 2023:
As you will be aware, we launched our new primary menu on the return to school after February half term.
The menu has now been in place for six weeks and we’ve received very encouraging feedback. In addition to the positive comments, we have also heard that an additional carbohydrate choice would be welcomed with the Pizza on Monday Week 1, and again, with the Burger in a Bun on Monday Week 2.
We have taken this on board, and from after Easter, we will be asking our Pabulum Chef Managers to provide Baked Jacket Wedges as an additional carbohydrate (to the carb in the pizza base and the burger bun).

Pabulum are delighted to provide the catering services at Burpham Primary School. Pabulum’s Vision is to be at the forefront of improving the next generation’s health and well-being, by shaping the food culture in education that inspires a passion and love of fresh food – without compromise.
We feel strongly about educating the younger generation on healthy eating by providing fresh and wholesome food, as it's through a balanced diet and healthy food choices that students can maintain higher classroom concentration levels. 94% of our food is freshly prepared in Burpham’s kitchen and 75% of the food is British and locally sourced.
At Burpham Primary School we have a dedicated Pabulum team led by an experienced Chef Manager.
Available at lunchtime and made fresh in our kitchen we offer:
- A choice of meat/fish or vegetarian main meal
- Unlimited salad bar with eight delicious choices
- Jacket potato with a variety of fillings
- Two choices of unlimited freshly baked wholemeal bread
- Homemade dessert
- Fresh mixed fruit platter
- Homemade yoghurt or mousse
Our Pabulum dining experience gives every child time to enjoy our fresh food offer, whilst encouraging children to try delicious new dishes and rewarding them with a Healthy Bunch sticker or certificate.

Pabulum goes beyond the fresh food dining experience; our initiatives engage and inspire to help develop a deeper appreciation of food through parents’ evenings, playground taster sessions, food assemblies and cookery demonstrations.

If your child requires a special diet for medical, religious or ethical reasons please complete the “Special Diet Request Form” and return to the school office. If your child's special diet is for medical reasons then please also complete the Pabulum Medically Prescribed Diets Request Form. Both forms can be found below.
Please note we do not serve Halal meat therefore you will need to request the vegetarian option for your child and complete a special diet request form, if your child is having school lunches. Alternatively your child can bring in a packed lunch.

Universal Free School Meals
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically receive free meals at school and these are known as Universal Free School Meals.
When a child moves to Year 3, parents/carers start paying for school meals. The cost for a school meal is £2.50 per day.
Free School Meals (Pupil Premium)
If you would like us to check whether your child is eligible for a Free School Meal (Pupil Premium), please print off our Free School Meal form, and complete and return to the school office.
